Marine Lights,Fog,Sound Signals

Welcome to the site for all those mariners who are studying marine lights

I set this site up whilst studying for an RYA exam, as I thought it might helps others in the quest fopb-mugshot02r knowledge as well. Enjoy - as best you can “enjoy” a reference web-site!

Lastly, having taken very early retirement, I do like to do the odd boatie job - whether it be RYA Training, Own Boat Tuition or Deliveries.
If you want my CV then just drop me an email and I will send it to you.

THANKS TO:-
Also I’d like to thank the following helpful people from their RYA Sailing Schools:-

All gave me assistance and offered helpful comments.

CAVEAT 1.
This site ONLY works for the process of going from “type of vessel” to “lights (or shapes/sounds) displayed”.  So if you are interested in (say) Power Vessels under 20 metres, then go to that section and you will see the lights they can display.    However, those lights may well be common to many other vessels but these other vessels will not be displayed in the “Under 20 Metre Power” section.

CAVEAT 2.
It is also true to say that vessels do not need to show the lights I have shown!   Whilst this sounds a bit silly, a 20 metre power vessel may decide to use the lights for a 50 metre power vessel; it would be quite legal and within the rules.   Don’t blame me - I didn’t make the rules.
